This international meeting continues the success of the second World Forum for Spine Research which was held in Montreal in 2010, and will bring together top experts in the field of the intervertebral disc to share their knowledge on the rapid advances in basic, translational, and clinical research in this area.

The primary focus of this year's forum will be current understanding on various aspects of the intervertebral disc, form degeneration to pain and treatments thereof.

We have invited thirty top speakers from around the world to lecture at this event. They are chosen on the basis of their recent contribution to the field, and they represent the top 70% of all researchers on the intervertebral disc.
We anticipate some 250–300 participants from around the world, following the meeting in Montreal, where we had participants ranging from clinicians to engineers and scientists from forty different countries, making it a truly global multidisciplinary meeting!
